Altec PA / Stereo speakersOne pair of home made, extremely efficient PA or stereo speakers. With only 50 watts of input power these speakers will be EXTREMELY LOUD. The 15" driver is an Altec Lansing 421A, the same driver from the 1960's Voice of the Theatre PA systems. These drivers were used in most movie theaters and for live concerts in the 1960s.
The 15" drivers are a collectors item. The speakers were re-coned 7 years ago and are in perfect condition. The cabinets are home-made, plywood, unfinished. A heavy duty crosssover and 2 titanium horns (15" or so) are included. The crossovers and horns are not in the speaker cabinet, they are loose and can be laid on top of the woofer cabinet. These are goofy looking, great sounding, loud speakers with a bit of heritage. Someone handy with wood could make some killers cabinets for these. I have all the hardware needed to build new cabinets (carpet, handles, corners,...) that I'll sell for an additional 400 SR. The titanium horns and crossovers are barely used, cost about $400 for the tops and the 421A drivers sell on eBay in good condition for a few hundred dollars each. Make these speakers a good home, please. |
